Aksel Bender Madsen
Aksel Bender Madsen shared an enduring collaboration with Ejner Larsen, the pair's studio becoming a prominent name in Danish mid century design. They met whilst studying under Kaare Klint, the forefather of Danish modern, and subsequently their work is imbued with the principles of timeless beauty, expert craftsmanship and expert ergonomics. The international applaud great Danish figures like Arne Jacobsen received, who Madsen worked for after graduating, was welcoming to Madsen and Larsen too. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, purchased a design of theirs for the landmark 1960 exhibition, The Arts of Denmark, deeming it to be representative of the merits of their country's design ethos.
