Lovely shaped strong curved teak back occasional chair by Helge Sibast for Sibast Mobelfabrik with gorgeous curved hind legs & beautiful grain on back rest.

About the Designer

Danish furniture manufacturer Sibast was established in 1908. Having apprenticed under his father, Helge Sibast took the reins of the family business, along with his two siblings, in 1943 and he is responsible for many of the company’s most successful designs, including No. 7 Chair and No. 8 Chair. He also commissioned his contemporaries such as Grete Jalk and Arne Vodder to develop lines for the company. The company was sold in the 1980s, but the family retained copyright to many of the designs, and in 2012 it was revived by the fourth generation Sibasts who continue to produce many of the iconic designs along with a few new ones in a similar mid-century style.
