Daniel Clarke x Forest
Forest presents a month long exhibition of paintings, prints and textiles by London based illustrator, Daniel Clarke. Building on his previous work exploring urban architecture, including his much lauded documentary series of the Heygate Estate, for this collection Daniel has employed painting and printmaking to reconstruct this surroundings in cities such as Marseille and Hamburg. By looking beyond the surface decoration of the buildings he spotted, Daniel has broken the architecture down to become a series of lines and grids with the result that architecture becomes pattern.
Cees Braakman and Pastoe
Pastoe underwent extensive change under the transformative leadership of Cees Braakman in the years following World War II. His designs were awarded national medals, such as at the Trienniale in Milan, and remain extremely sought after. Several of his designs are featured in museum collections such as those of the Stedelijk and the Centraal.
