Description
Beautiful balloon chair, designed by Hans Olsen and produced in Denmark by Lea Design in the 1960s. The chair has a patinated suede seat, steel frame and teak armrests.

About the Designer
Beginning his career as a cabinet maker, Danish designer Hans Olsen then studied architecture under Kaare Kilnt, where he focussed on the principles of ergonomic design whilst developing his expertise in materials and craftsmanship. He set up his own studio in 1953 where he was able to experiment with design and materials in an effort to achieve maximum comfort. His designs often featured curved laminated wood, giving a freedom of form and being both lightweight and strong.
