Description
Sweet set of three teak nesting tables with tapering legs. Stamped on the underside with the Danish Furnituremakers' Quality Control stamp.

Danish Furnituremakers Control
The stamp found on the bottom of these tables originated in 1959 upon the establishment of the Danish Furnituremakers' Quality Control (DFQC) organisation. The DFQC was set up in response to the proliferation of knock-offs and fakes, especially in America, that ensued following the surge in popularity of Danish furniture. In order to safeguard the Danish reputation for craftsmanship and quality, the DFQC undertook a number of tests on any item stamped with its logo. For example, 154 pounds of weight is placed on a chair which is then repeatedly tipped back and forth until it breaks. In order to pass the test, each chair must be able to withstand an incredible 60,000 tippings!
