Iconic 'Lotus' Model 1611 armchair designed by Dutch icon, Rob Parry, for De Ster Gelderland. An incredibly comfortable seat from the sprung construction and cushioned upholstery (this chair is also known as the 'mattress armchair'). Upholstered in a deep grey wool.

Rob Parry

Rob Parry studied at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, under such luminaries as Cor Alons and Gerrit Rietveld. He later worked for the latter, a formative experience to his career. Having launched his firm in 1950, he created iconic Dutch designs, including the double post box with his design partner, Emile Truijen. Parry was renowned for experimenting with new materials and techniques and represented his country at international design awards such as the Milan Triennial. His designs are included in the collections of museums like Amsterdam's The Stedelijk.
