F.D.B Mobler
Børge Mogensen headed up the FDB, the Danish Consumers’ Co-Operative, from 1942-1950, where he sought to produce quality, well-designed furniture that was affordable for the many. Like many of the most influential Danish designers, Mogensen was taught by Kaare Klint at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. His Professor’s teachings remained a source of inspiration throughout his career, notably in his studies into how people lived and what objects they possessed. People were the cue for his designs, the forms and functionality coming from them and for them. With such unwavering efforts to pleasing people, it is little wonder that his work is represented in the collections of major museums, including Designmuseum, Danmark, and the V&A.
