Cees Braakman

Cees Braakman led Pastoe in its transformative stages following World War II. His designs were awarded national medals, such as at the Trienniale in Milan, and remain extremely sought after. Several of his designs are featured in museum collections such as those of the Stedlijk and the Centraal.

The SB37 model is now extremely sought after and rare. It is noteable for its distinctive curved form, aided by the innovative use of birch plywood on the legs, and betrays the influence Ray and Charles Eames had on Braakman during a trip to America.
